NEW UPDATE: The below works at the Victoria and O’Connell Street intersection has been postponed to a possible January 18 start. We will keep you informed as we near the date, especially where bus routes are concerned.
From January 3 to January 14, there will be construction work at the intersection of Victoria Road and O’Connell Street that may affect Members and guests travelling to Parra Leagues.
The work includes utility relocation, intersection upgrades, new traffic lights, landscaping, and changes to street lanes and parking.
The aim is to keep two northbound lanes open on O’Connell Street, at the minimum, one northbound and one southbound lane will remain open to traffic in both directions.
Victoria Street, at the intersection of O’Connell Street, will be closed to traffic during work.
In regard to bus operations:
- Bus 549 will continue to run but will stop further along O’Connell Street near the Harold Street intersection
- Bus 829 will not travel along O’Connell Street from 12am to 3am
- The 900 free shuttle bus will still operate as usual
