Why It Matters
Homelessness continues to rise in Western Sydney. The 2025 Parramatta Street Count identified 48 people sleeping rough, up 85% from 2024. Overall, 222 people in Parramatta were experiencing homelessness this year. Across Greater Western Sydney, 37,779 people experienced persistent homelessness in 2023–24—a 25% increase since 2019–20.
Key factors include financial hardship, housing unaffordability, domestic violence and health challenges. Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus program has seen demand increase by 30%, now serving up to 300 people every day and offering housing, mental health, and legal support services.
Your generosity can help provide food security and dignity for those doing it tough in our community. Whether it’s a can of baked beans, a packet of pasta, or a donation online, every contribution counts.
Let’s come together to help support Parramatta Mission and make a real difference this Homelessness Week.
