On Friday 8th February, greater Sydney was lashed by severe thunderstorms and flash flooding. Parramatta Leagues Club experienced up to 38mm of rain in a 30-minute deluge (ABC News), and therefore experienced significant storm damage, in particular to the Club’s northern façade.
Safety is our highest priority, which is why the Club has swiftly removed all damaged panels and erected temporary safety mesh to ensure that the area is safe. Therefore, we now have a safe footpath for Members and guests as we welcome home our Parramatta Eels to Bankwest Stadium in 11 days’ time.
We are continuing to work with council and our insurance company on a replacement building façade and will keep Members updated on our progress.
